Scepticism Is Not Questions | ACCA SBL Professional Skills

Scepticism scores nothing when you write it as a question. This is the one move that turns the same doubt into a challenge that earns the marks. Most people spot the problem in the exhibit — then write "is this reliable?" and move on. The doubt was right. It just got handed back to the reader instead of being turned into a position. In this video I run the fix twice on a constructed board paper: spot the thing that doesn't add up, state it as a position rather than a question, and say how far the evidence can actually be trusted. We work through a payback figure that quietly assumes a contract still out to tender, and a satisfaction score that only surveyed the customers who stayed. Same information both times — the difference is entirely in what the answer does with it. We also draw the line that costs people marks: challenging the evidence is scepticism; deciding the strategy is judgement, and they are not the same task.
