About The Speakers - Professor Ruby Lal teaches South Asian Studies at Emory University Atlanta. She is the author of the book 'Empress: The Astonishing Reign Of Nur Jahan'. A Finalist of The Los Angeles Times Book Prize the book offers and vivid and fascinating Portrait Of Nur Jahan. Apart From Empress, She also authored Domesticity and Power in the Early Mughal World and Coming of Age in Nineteenth-Century India. Rana Safvi is a historian with a deep love for verse and a passion for the culture and heritage of the Indian subcontinent. She combines her enthusiasm for both in her writing. She runs a popular blog, 'Hazrat e Dilli', which talks about Delhi's culture, food, heritage, and age-old traditions.
