Antique Valve Lapper / Grinder Restoration

I found this rusty valve lapper on ebay and I thought it looked really cool. It certainly seemed like a perfect opportunity for a restoration video. I was worried about not being able to fix the knobs since the wood was splitting, but I decided to go out and buy a wood lathe and make some new ones myself. This was my first time using a wood lathe, so don't be too hard on me. I was very surprised at how well paint job on this restoration came out considering the piece was so rusty, the original casting had such deep grooves, and I didn't even use the proper type of body filler. Even though it is a beautiful tool, I don't see the purpose of it since the tried and true valve grinding stick with suction cups on either end is cheaper and easier to use in every conceivable way. Your best option is probably to use a a valve grinding drill attachment.
