How to connect wires and crimp terminals (splices) 3. How to crimp connectors 4. Protecting terminals and harnesses 5. Things to be careful of when using nippers 6. The devil's wiring connector *Part on crimping splices I haven't gone into too much detail here, but the correct way is to crimp a splice straight. (Theoretically, that is.) However, automobiles have moving parts, such as harnesses that enter the engine or truck cab. If you crimp a straight splice on such moving parts, it may come loose. In such cases, always apply solder. Also, if you're working while lying on your back, using a straight crimping tool may cause the wire to come loose. Working in the air, or in tight spaces where only one hand can fit. Wires break in various places in automobiles. In those situations, crimp using a U-shape. I'm sure you won't make a mistake when crimping. I've been crimping with a U-shape for 10 years, and I've never had a wire come loose or come off. I hope you think of this as an expanded repertoire.
