[2,100km Railway Odyssey: Laos - Thailand - Malaysia] A 2,100km railway journey starting from Laos, traveling through the heart of Thailand, and arriving in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Traveling with my hedgehog companion, we embarked on an epic 51-hour, 3-country railway adventure across Southeast Asia. The journey begins at Khamsavath Station in Laos. From here, we cross the Laos-Thailand border and head toward Bangkok. The highlight of this section is the former JR sleeper car. Seeing these B-class sleeper carriages, which once played a major role in Japan, still running strong in a distant foreign land is truly moving for any rail enthusiast. From Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Station in Bangkok, we transferred to a first-class private sleeper cabin to continue the journey south. While watching the peaceful landscapes of Southern Thailand pass by the window, we traveled through Hat Yai and reached Padang Besar at the Thai-Malaysia border. For the final leg, we switched to the Malaysian ETS express train to head straight for Kuala Lumpur. Two nights after departing Laos, we finally arrived at KL Sentral Station. The sense of scale and distance that only a continuous rail connection can provide is overwhelming. The nostalgic interior of the carriages and the taste of the bento boxes bought at the stations—everything became a perfect memory. I hope you enjoy the view from the window of this Southeast Asian rail journey! 【2,100km 鉄道旅：ラオス・タイ・マレーシア】 ラオスからタイを縦断してマレーシアのクアラルンプールまで2,100km。ハリネズミと一緒に、51時間33分におよぶ東南アジア3カ国鉄路の旅に出発です。 旅の始まりはラオスのカムサワート駅。ここからラオス-タイ国境を越えてバンコクを目指します。この区間のハイライトは元JRの寝台車。かつて日本で活躍したB寝台車が、遠く離れた異国の地で今も現役で頑張っている姿には、鉄道ファンとして胸が熱くなります。 バンコクのクルンテープ・アピワット駅からは、1等個室寝台に乗り換えてさらに南下します。車窓に流れるタイ南部ののどかな風景を眺めながら、ハジャイを経由して、タイ-マレーシア国境のパダン・ブサールへ。 最後はマレーシアの特急列車ETSに乗り換えて、一気にクアラルンプールを目指します。ラオス出発から2日後の夜、KLセントラル駅に到着。線路がつながっているからこそ味わえる、この圧倒的な移動の距離感。ノスタルジックな車内も、駅で買ったお弁当の味も、すべてが最高の思い出です。 皆さんも、東南アジア旅の車窓を楽しんでください！ #traintravel #railjourney
