DJI Mini 5 Pro Range Test: RC2 vs RC-N3 — The Results Surprised Me

I finally put the DJI Mini 5 Pro to the ultimate range test — comparing the RC2 and RC-N3 controllers side by side to find out if there's actually a real-world difference in signal range and performance. Does the O4 transmission system on the DJI RC2 give you more range? Or is the RC-N3 just as capable? I flew both controllers out to 3,000 metres to find out — and the results surprised me. ⏱️ Chapters 00:00 Intro & test setup 00:23 RC-N3 range test begins 01:11 How to identify your DJI controller (RC-N1, RC-N2, RC-N3) 03:15 RC-N3 reaches 3,000m — signal & battery results 03:52 RC2 range test begins 04:22 O4 transmission system explained 05:37 RC2 signal difference observed at 2,000m 06:44 Results & final verdict 📋 What's tested in this video ✅ DJI RC-N3 controller: signal strength from 0 to 3,000m ✅ DJI RC2 controller: signal strength from 0 to 3,000m ✅ Battery efficiency: DJI Mini 5 Pro returns with 57% remaining ✅ Controller identification guide: how to tell RC-N1 / RC-N2 / RC-N3 apart ✅ Camera feed comparison: Mini 5 Pro footage vs RC2 screen recording 🎯 Key findings The RC-N3 held full signal strength slightly longer — the RC2 dropped one bar at 2,000m while the RC-N3 held on until 3,000m. Both controllers remained fully usable throughout the entire flight. For most recreational flyers, the difference is minimal — but watch till the end for the full breakdown. 🛒 Gear used in this video • DJI Mini 5 Pro • DJI RC-N3 controller • DJI RC2 controller Should I push the range test further — or test in sport mode?
