Education training in the Space sector XXII Women in space and educational programmes

NEREUS organised on 19 May 11.00-12.30 (Brussels time), the 22nd session led by Margarita Chrysaki, which explored how women working across diverse environments contribute to the advancement of the space sector and its outreach activities, while actively supporting education and training initiatives. The session highlighted voices from a range of backgrounds—including the private sector, institutional organizations, and regional authorities—each bringing unique perspectives and experiences. It examined how their work not only drives innovation and strengthens the space ecosystem, but also played a key role in inspiring and educating future generations. Through their contributions, these women help bridge different parts of the sector, foster collaboration, and generate new ideas that enrich both the space industry and its educational landscape. Cristina Ananasso, ECMWF Mathilde Reumaux, ESA Brussels Office – EU Relations Office (SLE-U) Natacha Callens, ESA Academy Engagement Prof. Sarah Baatout, Deputy Institute Director, Nuclear Medical Applications, Belgian Nuclear Research Centre Francesca Albanese, Planetek Italia Vera Carvalho, Thales Portugal
