"The amateur and the racing." To warm up properly, we start right where we can open the throttle, and after a few meters, we can immediately perceive the differences between the two. The engine has virtually the same power delivery and pulls quite strongly on both, but the chassis is the most obvious difference here. The RACE is precise when entering corners and takes you out of the rut like a rocket, as long as you keep the throttle wide open. The X-PRO has a softer ride and is less decisive in maintaining its line through corners, especially at the rear, where it tends to drift more than bite into the ground. The rainy day made the terrain very slippery and full of treacherous conditions, but the two BETAs have their ace up their sleeves: soft mapping and traction control. A godsend when grip conditions become more critical, and especially when, after a day of potholes, ditches, jumps, singletrack, and a bit of everything, fatigue begins to set in.
