Panasonic Multi Split AC Outdoor Unit CU-M452C2 Fan Operation and Inside of Equipment

I removed the top cover and front panel of the Panasonic CU-M452C2 two-room multi-split air conditioner outdoor unit and recording of the interior, focusing on the operation of the propeller fan. The propeller fan features Panasonic’s signature two-blade design, with a diameter of 415 mm. It is configured to spin at quite high speeds under heavy loads, and the deep, resonant sound of the two blades cutting through the air is quite impressive. The fan motor is a Panasonic-manufactured 40W unit, and it appears that the company handles the production of its major motors (compressor motor, fan motor) entirely in-house. Although this model is an outdoor unit for a two-room multi-split system, the adoption of a scroll compressor without an accumulator and the fact that the circuit board is kept to a size comparable to that of a standard room air conditioner give the impression that there is relatively ample space inside the mechanical compartment. The electronic expansion valves—one for each indoor unit connected (two in this model)—which are the most distinctive feature of multi-split air conditioner outdoor units, are positioned in an easily accessible location on the front of the mechanical compartment. As a side note, the carrier frequencies of the inverters controlling the compressor and fan both seem to be set quite high, resulting in a rather shrill high-frequency noise during operation...
