How Taking a Break Changed My Life

Join my email list for weekly (or so) inspiration: https://www.wendydewarhughes.com In today’s video, I’m sharing why I stepped away for a little while and what that quiet season helped me rediscover. As artists, it’s so easy to get swept up in trends, noise, and endless outside influence. Sometimes we need to turn it all off, slow down, and listen for the gentle voice inside that shows us what we truly want our best work to be. This break gave me the clarity I needed to return to what I love most: painting intimate interiors, charming European village streets, cozy cafés, and the kinds of places you can imagine stepping right into. That’s the collection I’ll be working on all winter, slowly and intentionally. If you enjoy calm, creative videos and beautiful art, I hope this feels like a peaceful visit in the studio. Thank you for being here—it means so much.
