A year has passed since I last shared a piano performance. During that time, I went through a difficult illness that kept me away from the piano, and not long after, I lost my best friend. It was a season of silence, reflection, and healing, and this recording marks my first step back. I chose Distance by Two Lanes because it is one of the few pieces that truly resonated with me. There is a quiet honesty in it — a sense of stillness, longing, and reflection that words often fail to express. Over time, it became closely tied to my own journey through loss, distance, and finding the courage to return. I dedicate this performance to the memory of my friend, and to anyone who has faced a difficult chapter in life and found the strength to begin again. Distance — Two Lanes Piano Performance by Mahdi AlSulaiman ===== بعد آخر مقطع موسيقي نشرته قبل عام، مرّيت بفترة صعبة ابتعدت فيها عن البيانو بسبب وعكة صحية، ثم فقدت أعز أصدقائي. كانت فترة طويلة من الصمت والتأمل، وهذا العمل هو أول خطوة للعودة. اخترت قطعة Distance لـ Two Lanes لأنها من الأعمال القليلة اللي لامستني بعمق. فيها هدوء ومساحة للتأمل، وتعبر عن مشاعر كثيرة يصعب وصفها بالكلام. مع الوقت أصبحت مرتبطة عندي بمعاني الفقد، والحنين، والعودة من جديد. هذا التسجيل إهداء لذكرى صديقي، ولكل شخص مرّ بظروف صعبة وحصل الشجاعة إنه يبدأ من جديد.
