I Compared Art Fairs to Local Markets… Here’s What I Learned

I’ve just got back from exhibiting at Sussex Art Fair — one of the biggest art fairs I’ve done to date as a full-time artist — and in this vlog I’m taking you behind the scenes of the entire experience. From painting and framing work in the lead-up, to packing the car, setting up my stand, exploring Chichester, surviving the private view, and reflecting on the reality of sales afterwards… this is an honest look at what doing a major art fair is actually like as an independent artist. Whilst the weekend brought plenty of positives — lovely conversations, new contacts, print sales and great exposure online — I also didn’t sell a single original painting during the fair itself. So… was it actually worth it? If you’re an artist, collector, creative business owner, or simply curious about the behind-the-scenes of the art world, I hope this video gives a genuine insight into the highs, lows and lessons learned from the weekend. ✨ Featured paintings: • Your Move • Smoking Hot • Old Fashioned • Mollie’s Manchester • After Hours 🎨 Frames: EasyFrame - https://easyframe.co.uk 📦 Art Sleeves: ArtPaKK - https://www.artpakk.co.uk 📍 Sussex Art Fair Held at Goodwood Racecourse, West Sussex — If you enjoyed the video, please like & subscribe — it genuinely helps support my channel and my work as a full-time artist.
