The Kerry Bog Village, located on the Ring of Kerry (very near to Killarney) gives you a fascinating insight into how people lived and worked in Ireland in the late 19th Century. The village is the only one of its kind in Europe. One of Ireland's leading tourist attractions. This place is ideal for families and tourists. Visitors experience the culture, customs and living conditions of Ireland's past especially the famine years, and late 19th century. The village has period thatched cottages, fully furnished with authentic antiques, complete with sound effects and figurines. Several rural farm equipment, used by turf cutters and farmers of the time period are displayed. In the village, you will also see the once almost extinct ‘Kerry Bog Pony’ and the world’s tallest dogs the ‘Irish Wolfhound’.
