Grumman Goose over Seattle

The Goose was designed and built as a rugged 8 seat amphibious flying boat popularized by wealthy businessmen during the late 1930s. The aircraft proved to be so versitle, it was quickly fitted for light transport and rescue operations during World War Two. If there was any "down" side to the venerable Goose, it was its relatively short range of 700 nautical miles. In every other way, Grummnan had made a gem.
