Biografía de José María Arguedas | Literatura peruana

José María Arguedas Altamirano was born in Andahuaylas, Peru, on January 18, 1911. His childhood was marked by abandonment and abuse from his stepmother, which led him to live in close contact with the Quechua indigenous people, an experience that profoundly influenced his worldview and his work. He studied in Ica and Huancayo, and later at the University of San Marcos, where he trained as a writer and ethnologist. Throughout his life, he worked as a teacher, public servant, and cultural promoter, always defending the richness of the Andean world. He was imprisoned for political reasons and accused of being a communist on several occasions. His works, such as Yawar Fiesta, Los ríos profundos, El Sexto, and Todas las sangres, reflect cultural fusion and the conflict between indigenous tradition and Western modernity. In 1969, suffering from a deep depression, he took his own life. His legacy endures as one of the greatest representatives of literary indigenism in Latin America and as a defender of Peru's indigenous cultures. 🚀✍️Guide to writing a LITERARY ESSAY on the work of José María Arguedas👇    • Guía para hacer un ensayo literario sobre ...   📖Summaries and analysis of the works of José María Arguedas👇    • LOS RÍOS PROFUNDOS de José María Arguedas ...   📕Do you want more Language and Literature material?
