Vlog 1792 The End of the Chopper C Sets #railway #railroad #trains Explore Australia’s History & Abandonments with me: @Abandoned Oz The C Sets were built by Goninan in Broadmeadow in 1985 after the K Set fleet were built and entered service in 1986-1987. 14 4 Car sets were built and are currently targeted as sets C1 - C14 however they entered service as sets K40 - K54, in 1990 they were retargeted as C40 - C54. 28 Motor cars numbered C3581 - C3608 28 Trailer Cars numbered T4247 - T4274 22 December 1987 - C3608 lead the official opening train for the East Hills to Glenfield extension. 1989 - C3596 was given the CityRail livery for the launch of CityRail in 1989. 1991 - The seats were recovered at Eveleigh Carriageworks 1998 - 1999 the C Sets underwent the Citydecker refurbishment. On 7 April 2000 - C3589 was involved in a derailment in the Eveleigh Engine Dive at Redfern. In 2008 - T4262 was involved in a fire. Filmed on various dates in late 2020
