In doing so, we distinguish between the original creation and later forms of creation that repeatedly appear in Gnostic texts. A central theme is also the question of why certain forces devour their own matter and their own creations to avoid becoming powerless—and why Christ in Pistis Sophia alters the paths and times so that souls can be set free again.
