Kroger Marketplace Groundbreaking

LIVE: Groundbreaking for the new Kroger Marketplace along Brookwood Ave. The new building will be roughly 123,000-square-feet, nearly double the current Kroger location. The Kroger Marketplace will have 485 parking spaces. The store will employ 250 full- and part-time employees. A 14-pump Kroger fuel center, as well as a double-lane pharmacy drive-thru, are planned to be built as well. The new store is also expected to feature more options for produce, bakery, deli and meat departments, as well as a Starbucks location. Construction is expected to take about 12 months.
