Avid Media Composer: A Balanced Review

DISCLAIMERS (since this video got way more traction than my original intended audience of family/friends): This is NOT, NOT, NOT, NOT, NOT A TUTORIAL. This is a video I made to poke fun at something I obviously don't fully understand because Avid is dense AF. If you happen to understand Avid better than I do, more power to you! Feel free to explain what I got wrong, but know I am not claiming to be an expert here, just in over my head and expressing comedic consternation. There are many things I also chose not to address simply for the sake of time, instead choosing the most "surface level" complaints which, to me, would be easiest to convey to people who are equally/more unfamiliar with the software as me. I definitely should have explained this in the video, but I am using a slightly older version of Avid which predates the biga$$ update they made in 2020. I use this because that's the version my workplace still uses and the many editors I've worked with have never complained. According to my experience, the 2018 version is still a perfectly valid and widely used version of Avid. "Updates" in Avid terms are a highly infrequent and relative thing, and if it's acceptable to hold back on the latest versions of other softwares, it is equally or even moreso for Avid.
