A population has recently been discovered in Guyana. It is also widely known in Brazil as Tarim. The breeding season lasts from April to June, with a second period from November to December. The female builds a bowl-shaped nest with straws, dry roots, coconut fibers, and animal hair in clumps of Tillandsia in tall trees. In Guyana, the nest is built in dense foliage at the top of trees such as the cashew tree (Curatella americana). The clutch consists of 3-4 whitish eggs. The chicks hatch after 12-14 days, are fed by the female, and are fully feathered after 12 days. In nature It feeds on fruits (figs), flower buds, and seeds of herbaceous plants.[3] It also consumes small insects, wild cashew nuts (Curatella americana), dandelion seeds (Taraxacum officinale), flower buds of an asteraceae (wedelia), and phoradendron fruits. #goldfinch #goldfinchbreeding #tarim #cardinal Original video: Raising Tarim using Canaries as nannies.    • Pintassilgo da Venezuela Tarim    uso de a...   Made under Creative Commons Attribution License
