৮৭তম বিএমএ লং কোর্সের পাসিং আউট প্যারেড/ Passing Out Parade of 87 BMA LC/ Chief of Army Staff

A presidential parade was held this morning at the BMA Parade Ground in Bhatiari, Chittagong to mark the commissioning of officer cadets of 87 BMA Long-Term and 59 BMA Special Courses of the Bangladesh Military Academy (BMA). Chief of Army Staff General Waqar-uz-Zaman was the chief guest. He said that through the oath-taking, the commissioned officers have been entrusted with the sacred responsibility of protecting the independence and sovereignty of the country. The army chief expressed his determination to develop the army into a trained, disciplined and modernly armed force. A total of 213 officer cadets of 87 BMA Long-Term Course and 14 officer cadets and 4 trainee officers of 59 BMA Special Course were commissioned in the Bangladesh Army through today's parade. Out of the total 231 commissioned officers, 24 are female officers. Battalion Senior Under Officer Abdullah Al Arafat received the 'Sword of Honor' as the best cadet from the Army Chief and the 'Army Chief Gold Medal' for excellence in military affairs. The ceremony was attended by the General Officer Commanding Army Training and Doctrine Command, General Officer Commanding 24 Infantry Division and Area Commander Chittagong Area and the Commandant of Bangladesh Military Academy, along with high-ranking military and civilian officials from home and abroad, parents and guardians of the newly commissioned officers.
