Worms Were Killing My Goats

When we first started raising goats, I didn’t think we had a worm problem. But two years into goat ownership, we lost our very first buck to worms—and I quickly learned how devastating parasites can be. I followed my vet’s advice to deworm monthly, but within just a few months, two more bucks died. The breaking point came one night when I was at the emergency vet clinic with another goat I thought was about to die. That vet told me two things I’ll never forget: ◾ You will never get control of worms with drugs. ◾ You will never have zero worms in an animal that eats off the ground. Those revolutionary ideas pushed me to start digging into the science of goat worms, parasite management, and dewormer resistance. It completely changed the way I raised goats and saved me from losing even more.
