St Matthews (Kentucky) Shopping-Dining-Theater History
St Matthews is a suburban district on the east side of Louisville, Kentucky. Its boundaries are roughly Cannons Lane-Chenoweth Lane on the northwest; Westport Road on the Northeast side; Watterson Expressway on the south side; and Breckenridge Lane on the west side. It is Louisville's main shopping district and financial district. In the 1940s, St Matthews was mainly potato farms. Today it is a bustling vibrant retail and residential district. Steve Wiser provided a talk of how this area has developed over the past 80 years.
