Ship Captain Arrested After Cruise Passenger Falls Into Water

Cruise news today. A cruise ship captain has been arrested in Greece after a passenger fell into the water while boarding Norwegian Viva in Corfu. According to the Greek Coast Guard, earlier this week strong winds caused the ship's mooring lines to part, allowing the vessel to drift away from the pier and pulling the gangway away as guests were returning onboard. Europe's record-breaking heat is now impacting the cruise industry. A Danube River cruise has been canceled after the air conditioning failed aboard TUI Skyla during the ongoing heat wave. Carnival Cruise Line kicked off its America250 celebrations this week with a special event aboard Carnival Elation in Jacksonville. The cruise line, an official partner of the nation's 250th anniversary celebration, honored local veterans, active-duty military, and first responders during the event. Cruise line stocks for CCL, RCL, NCLH, and VIK.
