I am sharing my tips and tricks on techniques of arranging local irises to look similar to the traditional Japanese ikebana arrangements. There is a very specific way of arranging irises in Japan for the 5th of May - the boys' day. Why iris? Apparently the shape of the leaf resembles a sword. Rinpa style of Japanese painting is famous for depicting landscapes. This arrangement has a little bit of that landscape character. And if you group several such arrangements it will look like a real painting on a Japanese screen.
