This review covers the built-in tuner of the Aurex TY-AK2 high-resolution CD boombox, covering its setup method and sensitivity when receiving radio broadcasts. My honest impression is that the FM sensitivity is worse than average, and the AM sensitivity is poor, as this is a portable boombox, requiring the use of an external loop antenna rather than the built-in bar antenna, which is bothersome and results in poor sensitivity. In recent years, most commercial AM stations also broadcast on wide FM, so there's no need to bother listening to poor-sounding AM broadcasts. NHK First and Second stations can only be received on AM, so I wouldn't recommend this boombox for those who listen to NHK.
