Modern Duke Street in Glasgow is known for many things. The Dennistoun cafe culture, Tennent's brewery and perhaps the up and coming developments at the Meat Market. But seldom is it brought up in conversation that there was once a very dark, grim prison sitting just a stone thrown from the city centre, by High St, on Duke St. Let's take a brief look into this bygone site.
