Perhaps the most beautiful walk of the year, certainly one of the most beautiful! Temperatures are rising to around 30 degrees, actually too hot to see wildlife during the day. Or is it? Naturally, I set off early again, and the morning was truly magically beautiful. A blanket of morning mist covers the awakening heathland, and there is movement in the woods. Slowly and elegantly, a beautiful herd of deer moved through the low-hanging morning mist to retreat into the dense forest. And when it gets too hot during the day? Exactly, then you seek coolness.
