Savage 93R17 Budget Build. That Wasn’t a Budget Anymore! | MDT stock Upgrade Review and Arken Optic

This video is about my Savage 93R17 .17 HMR “budget build”… that completely stopped being a budget build. It started simple. The goal was a cheap Savage 93R17 rimfire rifle that could shoot well and have some fun at the range. Then the upgrades started happening… and the price climbed FAST. I added an MDT Field Stock, a new scope rail, and topped it off with an Arken SH4 Gen II optic. Before I knew it, this little .17 HMR build was pushing over $1100. Yeah… for a rimfire. 😆 At that price you could easily grab a CZ or Ruger rimfire, or even start creeping into some decent centerfire rifle territory. So the real question is… Was it worth it? Absolutely. This Savage 93R17 is a straight-up shooter. She’s sub‑MOA at 100 yards, feels awesome in the MDT chassis, and the whole setup just works. The rifle balances great, tracks well, and makes ringing steel and punching tight groups way too much fun. Could I have just bought a different rifle from the start? Sure. But where’s the fun in that? This build might have taken a little longer (and a little more money) than planned, but in the end it turned out accurate as hell, fun to shoot, and a project I actually enjoyed building. Sometimes the best builds are the ones that get a little out of hand.
