Inspired by his own journey, and fueled by a passion for music, Meir found solace and purpose in composing a poignant melody centered on the words of the profound sentiment of the morning blessing: "ברוך אתה ה אלקינו מלך העולם פוקח עורים" (Blessed are you, Lord our God, King of the universe, who opens the eyes of the blind). Meir wanted to express gratitude for the vision he once had - and hopes to regain - and to offer solace to those facing adversity, Seeking to infuse his song with personal touches and Yiddish rhymes that resonated with his heart, Meir collaborated with the renowned Motty Ilowitz. Motty wrote some personal lines, expressing Meir's heart and feelings, and together, they brought Meir's vision to life, crafting a melody that captured the essence of resilience and gratitude. In a touching turn of events, Meir's song caught the attention of the beloved singer Michael Schnitzler z"l, who graciously offered to lend his voice to the project. Sadly, this collaboration became Michoel's final recording before his untimely passing. Lyrics: ברוך אתה ה' אלוקינו מלך העולם, מלך מלך העולם, דער קעניג פון די וועלט. דארף מען דאנק און לויבן פאר אלעס וואס מען פארמאגט דארף מען לויבן פאר אונזערע אויגן, יעדן טאג. מען דארף זיך שטארקן, און טראכטן, אז אלעס איז גוט זיך נישט זארגן, וואס וועט זיין מארגן, ער שיקט אונז אלעס מיט. °°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°° "פוקח עורים": הבחור שהתעוור בלחן מרגש עם מיכאל שניצלער ז"ל ומוטי אילאוויטש • צפו! עד לפני שנתיים היה יוסף מאיר (בן רייזל הדס לרפו"ש) נוסענצוייג בחור רגיל ככל האדם, ביום בהיר החלה לפתע להיחלש ראייתו של מאיר, בדיקה מהירה גילתה כי יש לו גידול במוח, הגידול שהיה שפיר הוסר, אך הוא פגע לו בראיה. בתקופת הניתוח בארה"ב נוצר קשר אישי בין נוסענצוייג והזמרים מיכאל שניצלער ז"ל ומוטי אילאוויטש שבאו לבקרו ולשמח אותו, מאיר השמיע להם את "פוקח עורים" שהלחין בהשראה מתוך כל מה שעבר, שניצלער התלהב מאוד ואמר לו שהוא מקליט איתו את זה, ואף דחף את כל הפרוייקט ככל יכולתו, אילאוויטש מצידו הוסיף את הקטע הגבוה ואף כתב כמה שורות מהלב. ימים ספורים לאחר ששניצלער סיים את ההקלטה באולפנו של יענקי כהן בירושלים הוא חזר לביתו ושם נפטר לדאבון לב, ובימים אלו ממש מציינים אחד עשר חודש לפטירתו. עם "פוקח עורים" בעיבוד המאיר של המעבד המוכשר דוד פינק, לצד הקליפ שצולם באולפנים השונים, בנופיה של הארץ ובמרחבים של ארה"ב, מבקש מאיר להזכיר לנו להודות לה' על הראיה שנתן לנו! °°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°° Credits: Special thanks to Yanky Werzberger whose unwavering dedication brought this project to life. לעילוי נשמת his dear mother יהודית פיגלא בת חיים אליעזר ע"ה.
