Los jamás conquistados de Oaxaca - Nación Mixe

In Oaxaca there is an original town that they call Los Never Conquered. Neither the Zapotecs, Mixtecs or Aztecs could dominate them. We are talking about the Mixes, who today continue to demonstrate their iron attitude of cultural survival. We undress its indomitable nature between mountains and waterfalls. We begin exploring the Sierra in the community of Santa Maria Huitepec, which is located on the slopes of Zempoaltepetl, the sacred mountain of the Mixes. There we met our guide Epifanio, who would open the path for us with his machete. The route that Epifanio shows us would consist of going down to the canyon where the river runs, and thus witness the waterfalls that descend from the sacred mountain.   / jorgeeduardodeleon
