We depart from Higashimuroran Station and head towards Washibetsu Station. Washibetsu Station is located on the border between Muroran City and Noboribetsu City, directly above the underpass of the Muroran Loop Line. The station building is just barely within Noboribetsu City. This is probably the only place in Japan where the platform is directly above the underpass, straddling the city border and offering a panoramic view of the freight station.
