Huinganco: senderos, historia y vida en el norte neuquino

In northern Neuquén, there are towns where life still moves at a slower pace. On this trip, we visited Huinganco, known as the Garden of Neuquén, a destination surrounded by mountains, forests, and trails that invite you to walk and linger. Located just over 60 km from Chos Malal, Huinganco stands out for its natural surroundings and for having been declared the Provincial Capital of Mountain Hiking, with numerous trails designed to allow you to enjoy the scenery at a leisurely pace. During our stay, we stayed at the Hostería Huinganco, part of Hoteles del Neuquén, and explored various places that are part of the local identity: the artisanal candy factory, the Museum of Trees and Wood, the municipal nursery, and Camping La Corona, where we learned about a family business and regional cuisine. To conclude our tour, we went trekking to Cerro San Pedro, accompanied by our guide María Teresa Soto, who shared stories about the history and landscape of the area, while the views opened up over the valley and the mountains of northern Neuquén. A video that shows why Huinganco is much more than a destination: it's nature, history, and everyday life in one of the most beautiful corners of Neuquén.
