Organising Secretary Explains Objectives of Adi Referendum Rally, Seeks ABK President's Resignation

Organising Secretary of the Adi Referendum Rally, Thomas Borang, on Tuesday addressed a press briefing to explain the objectives of the June 28 Adi Referendum Rally and respond to recent statements made by the ABK Youth Wing. Borang said the rally was organised to highlight issues concerning the Adi community and outlined the reasons behind the demand for the resignation of the current ABK President. He alleged shortcomings in the organisation's leadership and called for the President to step down. Referring to the case involving Sibo of Yingkiong in Upper Siang district, Borang alleged that the ABK President had failed to extend adequate support in the matter. He also responded point-by-point to remarks made by former AdiSU President Jirbo Jamoh through the ABK Youth Wing, presenting the organisers' stand on the issues raised. The press briefing was held to clarify the objectives of the June 28 Adi Referendum Rally and to present the organisers' response to recent statements issued by leaders of the ABK Youth Wing.
