Paul Hoyningen-Huene: What makes Science special? Why is Science so reliable?

Dr. Hoyningen-Huene specializes in the general philosophy of science, which is concerned with the foundations, methods, and implications of science. The central questions of this study concern what qualifies as science, the reliability of scientific theories, and the ultimate purpose of science. His most recent book, 'Systematicity: The Nature of Science', is devoted to the nature of science, including the social sciences and humanities. He also specializes in research ethics, which focuses on the moral issues that arise during or as a result of research activities, as well as the ethical conduct of researchers. In the field of the ethics of science, Dr. Hoyningen-Huene has primarily dealt with questions concerning the responsibility of scientists and engineers.
