PESCHICI, PORTO INSABBIATO

The port of Peschici has silted up further after the April storms and is currently unusable. As can be seen from these images, the depth in the port basin is no more than 30 centimeters. A large group of vacationers were diverted to Vieste, causing considerable inconvenience. The problem is dredging. Mayor Luigi D'Arenzo reiterated that in the coming days, with the Port Authority's order, an initial intervention will be carried out, while at the end of the summer, thanks to funding from the Puglia Region, the actual dredging will take place.
