Lisbon to Faro - Intercidades with Comboios de Portugal

I have to be in Faro that night, so it is time to take the Intercity (Intercidades) train from Lisbon Oriente to Faro. You must give yourself some time to walk around Calatrava's Oriente station, especially if you like flowing curves of concrete and steel, and you know I do! After that we can experience the comfort of the 1st class in CP's intercity trains. they may not be as fast as the Alfa Pendulars, but they are still smooth and pretty quick too. Finally the scenery and countryside on the run from the capital down to the Algarve coast, whilst not necessarily "spectacular", is really lovely, with changing vistas as you move from north to south and from the coast to the interior.
