https://www.globalpeace.org The Global Peace Convention is a preeminent, world-level platform to share best practices and develop collaborative strategies in areas of peacebuilding, education, entrepreneurship, sustainable development, youth and women empowerment, and other fields of social impact. Following conventions hosted in Manila (2009), Nairobi (2010), Seoul (2011), Atlanta (2012), Kuala Lumpur (2013), and Asunción (2014), leaders from 44 nations representing governments, faith traditions, business and civil society gathered again in Manila on February 28- March 3, 2017, addressing the convention theme “Moral and Innovative Leadership: New Models for Peace and Development.” Thousands of participants explored critical global issues, shared best practices and developed innovative, action-drive solutions to building peace while strengthening robust multi-stakeholder partnership at the Convention. Dr. Hyun Jin Preston Moon established the Global Peace Foundation in 2009. Inspired by the vision that all people, regardless of race, nationality, religion, or culture are members of One Family Under God, the Global Peace Foundation is building a worldwide network of committed and innovative peacebuilders, working in a partnership based on common values, aspirations, and principles. In this keynote address at the Convention's Opening Plenary, Dr. Hyun Jin Preston Moon highlighted the need to recognize self-evident, transcendent truths that define our common humanity and build consensus around shared values to build a world of lasting peace and prosperity.
