DICES Webinar | Care, Democracy, Inclusion: Mapping Europe’s Social Economy

On 3 June 2026, the DICES Project hosted an online webinar examining how the social economy is reshaping care, work, and democratic life across Europe — and what that diversity actually looks like from one country to the next. Organised by the DICES team, the webinar offered a first look at the findings behind the upcoming DICES report Conceptual Framework and Mapping of the Social Economy in Europe. Speakers from the University of Graz, CIRIEC, and KU Leuven introduced the conceptual framework — covering social economy, economic democracy, and care as a bridging concept — before turning to a country spotlight on Belgium. From cooperatives and mutuals to associations and grassroots initiatives, the social economy takes many forms across Europe. The DICES project maps that variation across nine countries to understand where it thrives, where it faces barriers, and how inclusive care and democratic governance come together in practice. 👉🏻 Follow DICES on LinkedIn:   / dices-project   👉🏻 Sign up to the project's newsletter: http://eepurl.com/jpYliU
