In Brussels, I had the opportunity to be invited to the podcast "Mon Histoire, Un Espoir de Corazon" (My Story, A Hope by Corazon) to discuss a still largely unknown reality: post-separation violence. In this episode, we address what often awaits victims after leaving their abuser: harassment, abusive legal proceedings, manipulation through children, psychological pressure, threats, smear campaigns… So many strategies that allow the perpetrator to maintain control, even after the breakup. Leaving an abusive relationship is often the beginning of a new battle, not the end of the violence. Understanding these mechanisms is essential to better protect victims, support them, and dismantle certain misconceptions.
