Thyssen (Mod. Neoteric) Elevators | Plaza Surabaya, ID

The former scenic as well as the service elevators in one of the older generation shopping malls in Surabaya. Unfortunately I came here a bit late, as they have sadly been modernized into a Chinese brand called Neoteric. The mod was done by Marico Gria (formerly Thyssindo Griatama), the company who first installed these elevators in 1987 since they're the one who maintain the elevators in this mall. Apparently they are also a distributor of Neoteric so it makes more sense. I've also filmed another set of elevators but I'm gonna save those later on. The first elevators were originally scenic until their glass windows were covered out. You can clearly tell by the shape of the cars. There is a reason for this; there used to be an outdoor square just outside these elevators but some years later the mall added a little extension building at where the square used to be, which goes up till the 2nd floor. Probably because there's no point of seeing an ugly rusting zinc roof from inside the cars the management decided to block the windows and therefore turning these elevators into non-scenic. Despite this, you can still see the yellow colored elevator cars from the top floor of the parking building as well as on the 2nd floor of the mall area which is quite interesting. The service elevators only serve until the 3rd floor, yet there are buttons for the 4th and 5th floor on the COP which don't work when you press them. Before modernization, they had Indolift buttons rather than Schaefer for some reason. It was possible that those Indolift buttons were replacements from the original Schaefer buttons but I can't verify this due to lack of evidence. They still retain their original 1980s car interior which is nice. UPDATE: Someone told me that there is at least one more service elevator hidden somewhere in the mall which is currently used for refuse collection.
