Independence Limited ‘89 - Fostoria, OH to New Haven, IN - June 17, 1989

Chasing the double-header steam excursion with NKP 587 leading N&W 611 from Fostoria to New Haven, IN. The NKP 587’s restoration by the Indiana Transportation Museum was completed in the previous year. The routing of this train was originally going to be via the Lima and Frankfort District as in the previous years, but it was changed to run via Fort Wayne. The camcorder was on its last leg and the battery died at Oakwood so I added some of my still photos of the train at the end as it eased into New Haven, Indiana.
