(POLYMER- LECTURE-8) Elastomers- Natural Rubber and its Vulcanization By Dr. Nisha Singh
Elastomers are the polymers having elastic property or property of being stretched. Natural rubber is made from latex of rubber tree containing isoprene, which gets polymerized into natural rubber. Due to very poor quality natural rubber can not be used as industrial level, so the process of vulcanization (compounding with Sulfur) is necessary to improve its properties.
