Fernsehen im Nationalsozialismus - Das erste regelmäßige Fernsehprogramm der Welt (22.03.1935)
On March 22, 1935, the television age began in Germany, a unique event worldwide. Much of what we know from television today already existed by 1935. The television program was initially broadcast in Berlin, later followed by Leipzig, Nuremberg, and Hamburg. Viewers rarely watched the programs at home, as few owned a television set. Instead, they gathered in public television parlors. The first television station was named "Paul Nipkow Television Station." Nipkow is considered the inventor of the Nipkow disk, which made image reproduction possible in the first place. The footage in this film shows examples from the years 1935-1937, particularly the broadcast of the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin.
