All the streets clearly identified and tips for passing the sgi road test explained. Several of my viewers who took SGI Class 5 Road Test at Saskatoon Downtown passed on the first attempt. They did a great job because they knew the downtown road test route well after watching my videos several times. They also practiced parallel parking a lot. All got Class 5 Novice 1 license. Normally, students make mistakes during the road test because they feel stressed and nervous. Some of the common mistakes in road tests are: • Failing to do mirror and shoulder checks • Not coming to a complete stop at a stop sign or red light • Failing to maintain the legal speed limit • Failing to proceed on a green light; failing to give way • Entering an intersection on a yellow light • Turning right without yielding to pedestrians So I decided to record this SGI road practice test video to help people pass easily. SGI Road Test Practice Downtown Saskatoon During the Summer with Road Markings Here are some helpful tips: 1) When you get to the SGI parking lot for your road test, wait in your car with your seatbelt fastened on 2) The examiner will ask to check your left and right signal, your break lights and your horn 3) Wait for the SGI road test examiner's instruction before doing any action 4) When backing out of the SGI parking lot, SIGNAL, Put your right hand behind the passenger seat and look back 5) Watch out for pedestrians at crosswalks, especially when driving downtown during high traffic hours 6) You will be asked to parallel park at some point along the road test 7) Afterwards, shoulder check for traffic BEFORE exiting your parking spot 8) Look behind you when reversing, in addition to using your side/rear-view mirrors 9) Follow SGI's recommended lane changing procedure: signaling, mirror-check, shoulder-check, -proceed in that order 10) Be aware of cyclists riding within the dedicated bicycle lanes throughout the downtown core 11) When turning left at a controlled intersection, rotate through observing pedestrians, oncoming traffic, and the traffic light 12) Exaggerate your shoulder checks 13) Be relax and just drive, you got this! P.S The examiner is not looking for an expert, James Bond like driver. They want to see a calm, patient and safety-cautious driver.
