IRM: North Shore Line Day 2023

60 years ago, a unique railroad closed in January 1963. The Chicago North Shore & Milwaukee was a fan favorite as being the fastest and greatest interurban railroads of all time. Seeing the fast interurbans speeding up and down their tracks from Chicago IL to Milwaukee WI. In 2023 the Illinois railway museum put together a special anniversary event in honor of the North Shore Line. All day on January 21, 2023 the museum brought out all their North Shore equipment from Interurbans, a street car, the electroliner, and more! During the event the volunteers put on a great show running separate interurban trains from two car trains to the 5 car night special in the evening. We owe the IRM a lot of gratitude for their hard work for putting this event together and will be remembered forever by railfans.
