What is the Shimamon Channel? Twenty years ago, Shimamon apprenticed under the vice president of a famous Aichi Prefecture Ranchu Enthusiasts' Association, where he learned about Ranchu. He's also a professional fisherman (mainly sea bass). He currently raises Ranchu at home. He absolutely loves fish! He uses his extensive knowledge to share his love for fish. [Uncle] Shimamon's biological uncle. His uncle became interested in Ranchu 17 years ago, and Shimamon passed on his knowledge to him. Naturally skilled with his hands, he built his own breeding facility from scratch and continues to raise Ranchu today. [Hasshi] Planning, editing, and camerawork. He became interested in goldfish after the channel began, and currently raises them at home under Shimamon's guidance. [Yatomi Producer] Shimamon has been breeding goldfish in Yatomi for over 60 years. He owns a large breeding pond and is a second-generation goldfish producer. [Mr. Okada] Shimamon is two years older than him. While working as a full-time farmer, he started raising Ranchu goldfish as a hobby about 20 years ago. Two years ago, he joined the Ranchu Goldfish Lovers Club and became serious about it, which is where he is today.
