Super Star Wars - A New Hope Playthrough (SNES) (Deathless)
The 1st of 3 Star Wars games on SNES and arguably my favorite one of the series as well. I'll never forget my excitement when I found this in a pawn shop for $10 way back in 1999 when I was 8 yrs old and passing up another game to get it (which turned out to be Legend Of The Mystical Ninja) which looked cool as well. But after rushing home to play it I was HOOKED especially since I didn't know at the time that there was Star Wars games on the SNES. Then I realized how difficult the game was as well. Off and on for around 5 yrs or so I think I played this game something like once every week or so in an effort to beat it. And there was a number of times I made good headway too. But levels like the Sand Crawler, The Cantina Bar, and Escaping Mos Eisely made it very frustrating to do so. But I had a lucky break one night right before Christmas when I was 13 and I ended up going all the way to the end and beating it. It was like Christmas came early for me. But since then I always end up going back to the game and its sequels and they remain in my top 5 SNES games of all time and easily in my top video games of all time period. This one is truly timeless to me. The levels, the multiple characters to play as and the last level Trench Battle which blew my mind that a level looked this cool on SNES is what makes this an all time classic for me. But as everyone else seems to say this game is very DIFFICULT...if you don't know where to look for secrets and how to effectively beat the bosses. And with no double-jump or level passwords I would argue that this game is the hardest of the trilogy as well possibly (for me personally though its Empire Strikes Back) but its not impossible without a lot of practice. This playthrough was also done on my actual cartridge too. Well enough of my rambling I could sing this series' praise's for hours honestly lol.... Hope You Enjoy!
