Finally released from the depths of my hard drive is my 2023 short film 'Where Colours Come From'. This short was made as my graduation film for the Filmmaking MA from London Film School. We filmed this in the Provence in France in June 2022. This film was made possible by support on Kickstarter, lots of which came from my subscribers here on this channel so I once again just want to express how truly grateful I have been for it. I made this film at a time when I was figuring out myself and my sexuality and this film is very much a reflection of that. It's also in a big way a romanticisation of the summers I have spent in the french countryside and my relationship to that too. We filmed in villages near my parents house (which we used as our base) and filmed in the beautiful home of some family friends (fOR FREE!!!!) which was an amazing experience that I am still eternally grateful for. This film was also very fun from a technical side as we filmed on anamorphic lenses, which are very flattering from a portrait perspective, but also give the film that dreamy, atmospheric feel. The other very exciting thing was filming underwater. It was a very fun challenge and yes we absolutely froze our asses off because we shot at night, but it hope you will agree it was worth it.
