Toronto to Vancouver by Via Rail

If you're new to my channel, welcome. If not, welcome back. In this video I try to capture the experience of travelling by Via Rail from Toronto to Vancouver on the legendary "Canadian". My brother, Rick and I, took this unforgettable adventure from October 20 - 25, 2025. It's the journey that is what you focus on here, not the destination. The railways transformed the world in so many ways but today travelling by rail seems almost forgotten, certainly antiquated. Sad that it's relegated to history. In terms of conservation, travelling by rail is the most efficient and sustainable way to go. In recent years there has been somewhat of a revival in this mode of passenger travel. It is a leisurely and an almost "exotic" way to travel. It is unforgettable, a bucket lister! There were many passengers from other countries appreciating the Canadian landscape by this method. In my opinion it is definitely worth it. When seeing advertisements for rail travel like this, I saw the drone footage from afar as somewhat deceptive, especially when you realise this isn't the perspective that you really see. True, but what you do see is worth it. The dome cars make it so. Indeed, I use some of my own October drone footage from the Agawa Canyon that I had taken in 2022. It is used here, not to be deceptive, but to show a different perspective of the landscape from the air when the trains go through Northern Ontario. Just like seeing the tracks at the end of the train receding in the background, drone footage adds some flair! Enjoy. Thanks for watching.
